This year, the great feast of Transfiguration falls on a Thursday!
Come, let us ascend the mountain of the Lord….(Litia verse)

Immediately after Divine Liturgy on August 6th, we will enjoy a salmon BBQ and pot luck picnic at our fellowship hall. That will be followed again this year by a hike up Red Hill trail. The summit overlooks Mt. Tam, the entire North and East Bay and the town of San Anselmo. In the splendor of that vista we will chant a few excerpts from the Akathist: Glory to God for All Things.
We are so blessed to be in close proximity to such unique out- door spaces that enhance and reinforce the theology of Transfiguration through a visual and physical context.
If you can, please print a copy of the parts of the Akathist we’ll be singing. Link to text is below…

NOTE: The trailhead is right in back of West America Bank at Red Hill (Safeway) Plaza right off Sr. Francis Drake Blvd. in San Anselmo, so there’s plenty of free parking. The climb is shorter and more moderate than Pilot Nob or Bald Hill. On the way up are great views of our church dome, literally the brightest object in town!
