Every dollar funds medical care to a remote area of Guatemala.

On November 7th, Irina, Scott, and Gilbert will once again embark on a journey to Guatemala with the Faith in Practice team — this time to Totonicapan in the highlands of Guatemala. Their mission is to provide much-needed medical care to the mostly indigenous Mayan population in this remote underserved area..

Guatemala holds a special place in their hearts, and this video beautifully explains the immense need in the country. It’s no wonder that so many of their fellow volunteers continue to donate their time and money to make this mission a reality.

Gilbert will be serving as the pharmacist, Scott in the general medicine clinic, and Irina in the mobility clinic.

As volunteers, they cover their own expenses, but all the teams collectively raise funds that support Faith in Practice’s efforts to cover patient care costs. These costs include medical supplies, medications, pre- and post-operative screenings, follow-up care, and patient transportation when necessary for surgery or referrals to specialists. Your “tax-deductible donation” directly contributes to the healthcare of Guatemalans, particularly the indigenous population, of whom 91% live in extreme poverty.
